Introduction
All my life has been surrounded by music. From the very
beginning I took my first piano lessons at 8 which I shared with also
another gratifying pleasures (soccer, bicking, etc). Nevertheless
hearing and composing music was and still is an activity I enjoy the
most.
As John Miles states in one of his songs “Music
was my first love and it will be my last” I couldn’t have said
it any better. For me this sentence is like a moto or mantra.
It was in 1972 (I was eleven at that time) when for some reason which
is beyond my comprenhension a Walter (now Wendy) Carlos‘s Switched On
Bach LP came to my hands. After hearing it through my headphones in a
totally darked room (I don't know why but this way the music sounds
much better), I knew my future would be indelebly stamped and
permanently linked to music and more specific to Electronic Music. Even
now when I hear that record, now on CD, runs through my skin the same
old feelings I had when I heard it for the first time.
The time came and I got my degree in Electronics and Comunications
Engineering and later on a specialization in software design; then I
began to make some pretty simple musical instruments and developing
music software as a hobby.
This site is totally devoted to electronic music (my really one
passion) in its broader sense and particularly to electronic music
through MIDI. Yes. That five pin, two wire electronics interface that
changed the way we do music forever.
